When not in use Pelican stands as an sculptural object, its function is revealed as a person seats in: the fabric stretches progressively to wrap the body until the textile reaches its maximum tension.
Pelican comes from a vision I had while working on a school project in 2005. The idea was to create and abstract object that would reveal its function when someone starts to use it, therefor provoking a momentum of surprise.
A prototype of Pelican was made and exhibited at 'LE VIA des Ecoles' in Paris in 2005.
Today I and a French manufacturer are investigating the possibility of producing and commercializing Pelican.
