Design: Bertrand Clerc, Olivier Gregoire and Jonas Proia.
Year: 2005
Object type: Table.
Construction: Stainless steel sheets sandwiching a steel honeycomb.
Dimensions: X × Y × Z mm
Project type: School project.
The brief was to value the steel as a material through its properties.
Together with Olivier and Jonas we decided to demonstrate that steel is a strong material that can also make light structures.
The idea was to design a table showcasing these properties.
Two sheets of steel are cut and formed by a stamping process, then assembled in a sandwich-type construction envelelopping a steel honey comb core.
Attached to the ceiling by four wires, the suspension of the table above the floor emphasizes the lightness of the structure.
